3 bridges fall in Bihar: It’s 9 in 15 days now

Three more bridges – two in Siwan and one in Saran – collapsed Wednesday, taking the total number of fallen bridges in Bihar to nine in the past 15 days. The bridge in Saran was from the colonial era while those in Siwan, across the Gandaki rivulet, were built in 1983 and 1998. There was no traffic when the bridges fell.
CM Nitish Kumar held a review meeting with officials Wednesday on the matter.A panel set up to investigate reasons behind the collapses is set to sumit its report in a week.
