7 held for theft of copper wire, equipment from power station | Ranchi News

Ranchi: Seven persons were arrested in connection with the theft of copper wire worth Rs 4 lakh, equipment and Rs 13,300 in cash from a power station under Pithoria police station limits in Ranchi district on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, said Ranchi SP (rural), Praveen Pushkar. Around 15 criminals raided the power station and decamped with the materials and cash after keeping security guards and employees captive. Based on information provided by the accused, we have recovered 100 kg of copper wire, Rs 12,600 in cash and seven mobile phones, Pushkar stated, adding that raids were going on to nab others involved in the crime.TNN
