Kenya Safari: ‘Idiot actually touched lion’: Indian woman shares Kenya safari ordeal in viral post

Date:

A social media post by an Indian woman chronicling the uncouth behavior of Indian tourists outside has gone viral as she posted video of a man trying to touch the lion during a safari in Kenya. Owing to the irresponsible behavior of some Indian tourists, the rest of the Indians had to hear “this one is from your country”, Meenakshi Sharan wrote in her long X post urging social media users to shame the offenders.

“Oh Indian travellers, while in any other country, don’t forget that you represent all 1,441,303,328 citizens of Bharat & any uncouth, uncivilized behavior/ activity of yours belittles us all!” the woman posted. The woman alleged that when a group of such tourists was asked to maintain silence, they called her names.
“Take a look at this idiot who actually touched the lion, & his foolish friends in another car opposite to him made this clip!! Look at him giving a thumbs up after this atrocious act!” she posted a video.
“Civic sense, traffic discipline, social etiquettes, are becoming more & more uncommon in our society today,
be it any city/ state, whether at the airport, in the aircraft, a shopping mall or any public place & that’s a bitter truth!” Meenakshi wrote.
The social media posts drew a variety of reactions including some calling the concern ‘overreaction’. A user said that none of the videos that she uploaded showed anything wrong or problematic.
