In Marvel Rivals, few heroes bring the heat quite like the Human Torch. With the Thing, Johnny Storm was introduced in the 1.5 Season. Though in the present three-DPS meta along with Storm and Iron Man, this fiery personality is far from being something untouchable, in fact, he could be turned out before his fire spreads with the right strategy and character pick.
Here are the tips on how to beat the flames of the Human Torch.
1. Spider-Man: Speed and outplay
The Spider-Man web slinger designed, especially, to play threats like the Human Torch. Mobility permits him enough freedom to dance around flames while setting things up for high damage impacts.
- Web-Cluster cooldown would be reduced to 2.5 seconds, it boosts pressure further.
- Spider-Tracer does not make it easy for Torch to burst, but increases his damage taken.
Spider-Man’s strength rests in the uncertainty he provides. In such areas of fire, where the circuits are very defined, Spidey would slip through just in time and make an even sharper engagement.
2. Hawkeye: One shot, one flame out
Hawkeye shines when it comes to picking off airborne high-value targets. With just the right aim, Human Torch goes down before he finishes throwing a second fireball.
- Hypersonic Arrow sells it with one hit out of the air.
- Fully charged Piercing Arrow is capable of ruining squishy heroes straight away.
Hawkeye is certainly not the easiest hero but well worth the wait and placement. A good Hawkeye denies aerial control and it forces Johnny to reconsider his elevation.
3. Iron Man: Tech over flame
Iron Man uses his massive arsenal and air superiority to dominate any battlefield. His package allows him to match Torch and even beat him in any engagements.
- With Armor Overdrive now, Unibeam ticks 140-190 DPS.
- Micro-Missile Barrage locks onto and beats damaged opponents.
- Repulsor Shots provide excellent mid-air burst combo options.
Mobility wise, Iron Man holds way more versatility. He can float, quickly reposition, and rain down the damage while avoiding Torch’s slower projectiles. Pair him with another DPS character, such as Storm, to increase the pressure, leaving Johnny with no aerial capabilities.
4. Hela & Namor: Versatile counters
Hela and Namor would both be good choices because they would provide solid utility and burst possibilities against flying foes. These heroes are not only mobility, they also bring in control of the area and accuracy.
- Hela ultimately clears the team fight versus aerials.
- Namor helps in deep protection while flanking or repositioning.
These two shine in any arrangements currently existing in the meta.
Human Torch is strong but it can be defeated. As soon as you tip him off the air or deny him any space to move, his threat level drops drastically. Put his enemies-in-motion and punish them with agile duelists.
