Raid 2 box office collection Day 4: Ajay Devgn starrer crosses Rs 70 crore mark on debut weekend |

Date:

Raid 2, the sequel to Ajay Devgn’s 2018 blockbuster, opened to strong numbers at the box office, collecting an estimated Rs 70.75 crore over its debut weekend. Backed by solid advance bookings and positive word-of-mouth, the film has quickly established itself as one of the year’s major commercial successes.
The sequel to the 2018 hit opened to robust advance bookings worth over Rs 10 crore and earned Rs 19.25 crore on its opening day. Although the film experienced a dip on Friday, collecting around Rs 12 crore, it bounced back over the weekend. According to early estimates, Raid 2 earned ₹18 crore on Saturday and Rs 21.50 crore on Sunday, the film’s highest single-day earnings so far and the first time it crossed the Rs 20 crore mark.
The action-drama, certified U/A and running for 2 hours and 30 minutes, is expected to benefit from the extended May 1 holiday weekend, drawing steady footfall across both multiplexes and single-screen theatres.
Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, Raid 2 sees Devgn reprise his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik. This time, the officer confronts a new and powerful adversary — a corrupt politician played by Riteish Deshmukh. Vaani Kapoor also features in a significant role. The film explores themes of systemic corruption, political influence, and the unwavering pursuit of justice by India’s Income Tax Department.
Building on the critical and commercial success of its predecessor, Raid 2 is already on track to surpass the opening weekend collections of Akshay Kumar’s Kesari 2.
Meanwhile, industry sources suggest that Raid 2 is likely to make its digital debut in late June or early July 2025, following the standard 60-day post-theatrical release window adopted by most major Hindi films.
