Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are all smiles as they make a joint appearance since Avneet Kaur 'like' controversy and retirement announcement- WATCH |

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were spotted together at the Mumbai airport on Monday morning as they caught their flight out of the city. Dressed in comfy casuals, the hubby-wife duo twinned in oversized shirts and jeans. Both stars were given a warm welcome by the shutterbugs at the airport on their arrival. The two were all smiles at they made their way into the airport. Virat played the thorough gentleman, allowing his wife to take the lead as they headed to the security check. This marked their first public spotting since the social media controversy involving actress Avneet Kaur. While some fans guessed that the couple was heading to London, others said that they were probably heading over to Bangalore and that Anushka would possibly be present to cheer her man on dring the ongoing cricket tournament. Their joint appearance comes just after Kohli on Monday announced his retirement from Test cricket ending the speculation about his future in the longest format. He will only play in ODIs now, having already retired from T20 Internationals last year.“As I step away from this format, it’s not easy – but it feels right. I’ve given it everything I had, and it’s given me back so much more than I could’ve hoped for,” Kohli announced on his Instagram page.“I’m walking away with a heart full of gratitude – for the game, for the people I shared the field with, and for every single person who made me feel seen along the way,” he added. The couple previously left fans concerned when they were spotted on a dinner date. A video that has since gone viral show the two arriving at a restaurant. However, as they exit their vehicle, Kohli extends his hand to assist Sharma, who instead uses the car door for support and proceeds ahead into the restaurant. While some fans interpreted the gesture as a sign of tension, others dismissed it as a trivial moment being overanalyzed. The controversy around the ‘like’ lead Kohli to address the situation, claiming that “the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it.”Further rubbishing rumors of any trouble in paradise, Kohli shared a warm and heartfelt Mother’s Day post featuring photos of Sharma with her mom, his own mother and also one of Anushka with the kids, accompanied by a loving message. The couple, who married in December 2017, are parents to daughter Vamika and son Akaay. They have been in the headlines over their plans to reportedly shift to the UK to raise the kids away from the spotlight.
