NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated two landmark infrastructure projects — the Anji bridge, India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge, and the Chenab bridge, the world’s highest railway arch bridge. Waving the national flag, PM Modi marked the inauguration of the Chenab bridge that stands 359 metres above the riverbed.Jammu and Kashmir Lt governor Manoj Sinha, former CM Omar Abdullah, and railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were present at the event. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to flag off Vande Bharat Express trains connecting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar, further strengthening rail connectivity in the region.
