NEW DELHI: AHMEDABAD: An Air India Ahmedabad-London flight crashed shortly after takeoff from city’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.The passenger aircraft went down in the Meghani area of the city.As per the preliminary reports, the crash occurred moments after the flight took off. A dark plume of smoke could be seen rising from the crash site, visible from several kilometres away.Emergency services, including fire engines and multiple ambulances, have been rushed to the scene. As of now, there is no official word on the number of casualties or the possible cause of the crash. Air India and airport authorities have not released a formal statement yet, and investigations are expected to be initiated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).(This is a developing story)
