Elijah Blue Allman, the son of music icon Cher and the late Gregg Allman, was rushed to hospital over the weekend after suffering an apparent overdose in Southern California, TMZ reports.Sources told the entertainment portal that the incident occurred early Saturday morning in Joshua Tree, where emergency services transported the 47-year-old to a nearby hospital. While it is unclear what kind of drugs he was using at the time of the overdose, Allman is reportedly still in hospital and receiving medical care. Insiders noted that he was “very lucky to have survived.”Cher, who has long expressed concern for her son’s well-being, is said to be fully focused on his recovery.Allman has openly discussed his decades-long struggle with addiction and substance abuse.
