Shefali Jariwala had been in the limelight since a very young age. The star had featured in the ‘Kaanta Laga’ remix music video when she was only 19 years old, and had managed to reach the height of fame and glamour early on. Even though the star was surrounded by the glitzy Bollywood life from the get-go, it never took away from her main priority: her family.Jariwala had always been a family person, and she had managed to respect her parent and family ever since she began her career. Her father, however, was the most influential figure in her life, and although strict, he was her biggest supporter through it all. In an old interview, the actress had shared how much her father meant to her, and how she began her career even though he was not fully into the idea of her modelling and acting.

Jariwala on how her father wanted her to prioritise her studies

In an old interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Shefali Jariwala revealed how, even though she wished to enter the entertainment industry at an early age, her father was adamant about how she should be focusing on her studies first. When the offer for ‘Kaanta Laga’ first came, she had to make a promise to complete and focus on her studies to her father. After which, he allowed her to star in the music video that changed the course of her career.In the interview she had shared that “Mere pita ek paaramparik Gujarati parivaar se the aur wo mere glamour ki duniya mein aane ke faisle ke khilaaf the, kyunki hamare parivaar mein padhai ko sabse zyada mahatva diya jaata tha. Mere pita ne shart rakhi thi ki main pehle padhai poori karun”.The actress did not fall short on her promise to her father, and even went on to complete her education by finishing her Computer Engineering course from Sardar Patel Engineering College. “My forever-Valentine, My Dad!”

The star had remained public and open about her love for her family and had managed to actively post about them on her social media accounts. A sweet post from February this year went viral online again. The star had posted a photo of her and her father posing together in a pool with a peace sign. The caption had read “My forever-Valentine, My Dad !”, awing fans as well. She even paid tribute to her father on Father’s Day as well by posting a series of old family photos online. Her father, who is a stage 3 colon cancer survivor, was featured in all of the photos. The caption of the post read “To my dad who taught me the game of life and how to play it right. To my father, who has always been there for me and guided me to find happiness in life. Happy Father’s Day, Papa! I love you.”Other than that, the star had continuously posted photos and videos of her celebrating with her family members and showing them love.Shefali Jariwala passed away on June 27 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
