Bollywood star Akshay Kumar recently found himself in the middle of a social media storm after a video of him getting angry at a fan went viral. The video was taken during his holiday in London, and it showed the actor stopping a fan who was recording him without permission. Many online users were shocked to see Akshay react this way, but now the fan has come forward to explain what really happened, and it might not be as serious as it looked.
What happened on Oxford Street?
The fan shared a video telling his side of the story. He said he spotted Akshay Kumar on Oxford Street and wanted to check if it was really him. The fan said, “I was standing at the signal on Oxford Street when I saw someone who I thought was Akshay Kumar. To verify, I decided to follow him. First, I took a video from behind. Then, when I tried to record from the front, he saw me, came closer, and directly snatched my phone. Maybe he was busy at the time. He pulled the phone from my hand and also grabbed my hand.”
Akshay gave the phone back and took a selfie
In his video, the fan shared how the situation soon became peaceful. According to him, after taking the phone, Akshay politely asked him to stop taking videos. He added, “He (Akshay Kumar) said, ‘Sorry beta, I’m busy right now, please don’t disturb me and don’t take my photo or video.’ I told him, ‘You could’ve said that politely. Now please give me my phone back.’ After that, Akshay Kumar returned my phone and asked me where I’m from and what I’m doing here. In the end, he even agreed to take a picture with me. There wasn’t any major issue between us. He was actually a really nice guy. He looked like he was only 35-40 years old.”
Fan says: “He was a really nice guy”
Instead of being upset, the fan said Akshay Kumar was quite kind after the initial reaction. He even praised the actor’s looks, saying he appeared much younger than his age. He also made it clear that there was no big fight or drama, and everything ended on a good note. “There wasn’t any major issue between us,” he said in the video, which was also shared widely online.
Viral video might be misleading
A report by News18 shared that the sequence of the viral video might not show the full truth. According to the report the fan had already taken a selfie with Akshay Kumar before the actor got upset. The source explained, “The actor obliged the fan, who was a delivery boy, with a selfie, but he continued following him. The incident showcased a starstruck fan who followed Akshay Kumar despite being clicked with him, however, the order of the viral video is incorrect. Akshay had already clicked images with the fan first. Regardless of this, he was followed by the delivery boy on his scooty and was recorded incessantly.“
