NAGPUR: He is no trigger-happy encounter specialist but the kill tally of operations led by him, after the the Abujmarh siege ended Wednesday, is 101 Maoists.In his 26-year career with Gadchiroli police, C-60 commander Vasudev Madavi (48) rose through the ranks from constable to sub-inspector with three accelerated promotions over 58 encounters, a milestone marked by his latest operation in Koparshi, in the Maoist headquarters of Abujmarh.SP Gadchiroli Neelotpal said Madavi was a relentless warrior known for his acumen in executing strategy, innovating at ground zero and changing tactics when required. “Madavi clocked 101 after he managed to recover four bodies at the encounter site at Koparshi,” said Neelotpal, adding he led from the front. “He’s a game changer and master strategist.” Madavi’s operational brilliance has earned him two Gallantry Medals.
