Kattupalli Port handles 35,000 metric tonnes of soda ash in one go

CHENNAI: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has said it has set a national record at its Kattupalli Port by handling a 35,000 metric tonnes soda ash parcel — the largest single consignment of its kind ever received at any Indian port.“By handling this record-breaking parcel, Kattupalli Port has reinforced its role in driving regional industrial growth while advancing APSEZ’s mission of enabling global trade flows,” according to a release from APSEZ. Located near Chennai, the port is equipped with advanced warehousing, bagging facilities, mechanised conveyor systems, and robust multimodal connectivity, making it a vital logistics hub for industries across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states, the release says.
