Their beginning was with ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye’ (2006) which was a romantic drama that set the stage for their chemistry. But it was ‘Namastey London’ (2007) that turned their pairing into pure box-office magic. With Akshay portraying the rustic yet endearing Arjun and Katrina as the independent Londoner Jasmeet, the film connected with audiences for its mix of romance, humour, and patriotic emotion.
