Motherhood has brought Alia Bhatt not just joy but also a complete shift in lifestyle. The actress, who welcomed her daughter Raha Kapoor nearly three years ago, admitted that her body clock has changed drastically since becoming a parent. Appearing on Kajol and Twinkle Khanna’s talk show Two Much with Varun Dhawan, Alia revealed that she now cherishes her sleep cycle more than ever.“When you have a baby, your body clock changes. Even if you don’t want to wake up, she will wake you up,” she said. Describing her love for sleep, Alia added, “Sometimes I’m asleep by 9:30 pm, and I feel so joyful counting the hours I’ve slept.” Interestingly, her husband Ranbir Kapoor has also adjusted to the same rhythm. “Ranbir is on the same clock as me—he might come to bed 30 minutes later, but he too wakes up early,” she shared.

The weight debate after pregnancy

The conversation on the show also turned towards societal pressure on women to ‘bounce back’ post-pregnancy. Twinkle Khanna pointed out how new mothers are often expected to return to their pre-baby figure quickly, while Kajol acknowledged that the judgment often comes both from society and women themselves. For Alia, however, the experience was quite the opposite. “After giving birth to Raha, I actually lost weight very quickly. Apparently, breastfeeding burns a lot of calories, and since I was also eating clean, the weight just dropped naturally. But when a picture of mine surfaced, trolls claimed I must have used unnatural methods,” she explained. She admitted to being surprised by the criticism: “Some even said, ‘Why did she have to lose weight so quickly? It’s okay, take your time, Alia.’ But honestly, it just happened on its own.”Despite the online chatter, Alia acknowledged that the larger conversation around body image is now more supportive. “I liked that people were saying, ‘You do you, be whatever size you want to be.’ Nobody really cares anymore, and that’s refreshing.”
