In an interview with Esquire India, Saif Ali Khan shared that people at that time used to say that he was “lucky” to get multiple chances. However, according to him, he was not getting the “best movies” that were being made at that time. Saif shared that he was not being cast “as the main lead.” Reportedly, this changed after he started experimenting with characters in the movies.

In the same interview, Saif Ali Khan shared how engaging in “healthy competition” on the set made him grow as an actor. He further stated that his best performance comes out “riffing off his co-stars.” And hence, as per the actor, “working with wives and girlfriends is not a good idea.”
