Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha have done 9 films together like Mr Natwarlal, Silsila , Muqaddar Ka Sikander Ram Balram to name a few. But it is their off screen equation that has continued to be one of Bollywood’s most talked-about and enduring mysteries.And thanks to a clip that is doing the rounds of the internet, a new layer can be added to it. The clip is from an interview the Big B gave in 1984 to Shyama Perera of BBC wherein he was answering some fan questions and one was about what are the names of his dogs, and if he could suggest a name for the fan’s dog. He said , “ I have three dogs ,two Alsatians ( Franco and Nero) and one Saint Bernard is Bertie . And for the names , well if it’s a small one, I’d like to suggest a very Punjabi name called Pisti- it’s for something small in Punjabi, and if it’s a large one then you can call it Gabbar Singh.”Now not many would be aware that back in the 80’s, Rekha also had a dog as her pet ; it was pomeranian and her name was Pisti. A glimpse of her playing with her pet was seen in Simi Garewal’s show Rendezvouz with Simi Garewal. However, at this point one is not sure that Rekha’s pet was named before the interview or after; it is also possible that two different minds can have the same thought. Amitabh Bachchan turns 83 years old today.
