At the FICCI Frames event in Mumbai, Mohit Suri opened up about the success of ‘Saiyaara’. The filmmaker shared that on the first day of its release, he was overwhelmed by the box office numbers that started coming in. He added that the amount of love coming their way was “rare.” He said, “This love was humbling.”
Mohit Suri recalled that he used to ask his wife not to disturb him in the evening, as people who watched the movie would call him every day, and this went on for almost a month. He said, “I remember telling my wife this for the whole week after that, or a month, I think, that every evening, don’t disturb me; everyone’s calling because they watched the film from all over the world.”

At the same event, Mohit Suri shared that the success of ‘Saiyaara’ changed everyone’s attitude towards him. He said, “Competitors, people who didn’t believe in me, other producers. Surprisingly, they all felt it was their win, and I’ve never seen love like this for a film in the 20 years that I’ve been making films.”
