In the reel, the actress said it doesn’t bother her if people call her pushy; male superstars for ages have been doing what she is demanding, and yet there was never a fuss about it.“By virtue of being a woman, if that’s coming across as being pushy or whatever, then so be it. But it is no secret that a lot of superstars, male superstars, in the Indian film industry, have been working for eight hours for years, and it’s never made headlines,” said Deepika Padukone in her interview with CNBC-TV18.Diljit and Deepika, on several occasions, have expressed their mutual love and respect for one another. From Deepika confessing Diljit’s song ‘Lover’ as her favorite track, to her guest appearance during his Dil-Luminati tour, while she was pregnant, to the singer dedicating a song, their bond has always melted hearts.Circling back, the Same reel on a different page was liked by Deepika’s ‘Finding Fanny’ co-star Arjun Kapoor as well. In the video, the actress added, “I don’t want to take names now and make this into a whole thing, but it is very commonly, publicly known that a lot of male actors have been working for eight hours a day for years. A lot of them only work for eight hours Monday to Friday. They do not work on weekends.”
When Ajay Devgn reacted to the ongoing 8-hour shift debate
A couple of months back, at an event of ‘Maa,’ Kajol was asked to comment on new mothers demanding an 8-hour shift and how it’s not going down well with he industry. Ajay Devgn was also present at the event, and as a filmmaker himself, he added his take on the matter as well. He strongly said that the industry understands the need for an 8-hour shift, and filmmakers have accepted the same.“Most of the honest filmmakers, I would say, will not have a problem with this. And apart from just being a mother and working for 8 hours, usually people have started working in an 8-to-9-hour shift. So I think, it’s person to person and most of the industry does understand this,” said Ajay Devgn.
