Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1’ beats Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal to become the 9th biggest hit of Indian Cinema | Hindi Movie News

Kantara 2 faced competition mid week at both Thamma and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat released on 21st October ( Tuesday) to cash in on the Diwali vacations across the country. And both films have underperformed with regards to the expectations one had from Diwali releases. Thamma was able to cross Rs 50 crore mark but it has been made on a budget of Rs 145 crore while Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has earned about Rs 22.75 crore in three days. But both films have another chance to redeem themselves with the weekend kicking in from today.

Kantara 2 is well set on its way to Rs 600 crore collection and ends up becoming the biggest success of 2025 replacing Vicky Kaushal and Laxman Utekar’s Chaava. But post the film’s stellar 1st week has been slowly slipping with its collection. The film in its first week earned Rs337.4 crore while in second week the number fell to Rs 147.85 crore and in this week the number has reached Rs 78.5 crore.Going by the trend Kantara 2 would be able to cross Rs 600 crore mark only by the next weekend. Right now it is primed to challenge Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 which is the 8th biggest hit of Indian CInema with a lifetime collection of Rs 597.99 crore.

As of now it is enjoying the 9th position which was claimed by Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol starrer Animal- both actor’s career trajectory changed with the success of this one.
