Date:

Paresh Rawan’s ‘The Taj Story’ released in cinemas on Friday, October 31 after much controversy around it. The film did manage to create some buzz and has been doing decently well at the box office while competing with biggies like ‘Baahubali: The Epic’, ‘Thamma’ and more. Another film which is doing well in cinemas at the moment is Harshvardhan Rane’s ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’. Amidst these, ‘The Taj Story’ has tried to build its own space and been successful in doing so. The film opened at Rs 1 crore on day 1 and saw a double growth in numbers on day 2, making Rs 2 crore. On Sunday, day 3, it saw growth further and made Rs 2.75 crore. A bit of drop on Monday was expected and it collected Rs 1.06 crore. On Tuesday, day 5, the collection is Rs 1.35 crore. The total of the film so far, in India is Rs 8.16 crore according to Sacnilk. The Taj Story’ has managed to connect with audiences, surprising many who thought its run would have ended by now. The real challenge, however, lies in its second Friday, if it holds strong, the film could well touch the ₹20 crore nett mark. While a few new releases are lined up, they’re unlikely to dent its momentum. As per Box Office India, ‘The Taj Story’ is also on track to surpass the collections of films like ‘Maalik’ and ‘Dhadak 2’, and it’s certain to outshine ‘Emergency’, all of which were much bigger productionsDay 1 [1st Friday] ₹ 1 Cr –Day 2 [1st Saturday] ₹ 2 Cr 100.00%Day 3 [1st Sunday] ₹ 2.75 Cr 37.50%Day 4 [1st Monday] ₹ 1.06 Cr * rough data -61.45%Day 5 [1st Tuesday] ₹ 1.35 Cr * early estimates –Total ₹ 8.16 Cr –
