Get ready for a cinematic adventure at IFFI Goa, where three legendary Shah Rukh Khan films – ‘Chak De! India’, ‘Darr’, and ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ – will be screened in an extraordinary inflatable theatre. This groundbreaking mobile cinema experience marks a festival first, complemented by an exciting lineup of both contemporary Indian blockbusters and cherished classics.

Three films of superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be screened at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), where the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) have partnered with mobile digital cinema company PictureTime Digiplex to introduce inflatable theatres at the annual film gala.In a first-of-its-kind showcase, “Chak De! India”, “Darr” and “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” will be screened inside a fully equipped inflatable cinema to be set up at Goa’s Kala Academy, one of IFFI’s primary venues. The festival runs from November 20 to 28.PictureTime, known for deploying inflatable theatres in remote and underserved regions, will install a high-tech mobile theatre at the Academy grounds, according to a press release.The space will screen films across four sections – Inspirational Films, Indian Panorama Classics, Nostalgia and Children’s Cinema.Alongside Shah Rukh Khan’s classics, the inflatable theatre will also screen Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s “12th Fail”, Malayalam hit “Manjummel Boys”, Rajkummar Rao-starrer “Srikanth”, Rani Mukerji’s “Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway”, “Uunchai” by Sooraj Barjatya, Mira Nair’s “Salaam Bombay!”, “Qissa”, and classics such as “Shatranj Ke Khilari”, “Teesri Manzil”, “Chandni” and “Kala Patthar”.Special daily screenings for schoolchildren will feature titles like “Kaphal: Wild Berries”, “Gattu”, “Banarasi Jasoos”, “The Prince and the Crown of Stone” and “Naal 2”.PictureTime will also mount open-air screenings at multiple locations across North and South Goa to ensure wider access for local residents.PictureTime Digiplex founder and CEO Sushil Chaudhary said the partnership with the NFDC and ESG reflects how far inflatable theatre technology has evolved since the company first participated in IFFI with the ‘Bioscope Village’ in 2017.“Bringing our mobile digital theatres to a festival of this scale underscores how far this technology has come – from remote villages to one of the world’s most respected film events,” Chaudhary said.“This year’s programming – ranging from Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic classics to acclaimed contemporary titles – reflects the diversity of Indian cinema. With the Kala Academy inflatable theatre and open-air screenings across Goa, we hope to create an immersive and inclusive festival experience,” he added.The Kala Academy theatre is expected to welcome over 1,000 visitors each day, including international delegates, film professionals, school groups and cinephiles. The open-air venues are projected to draw an additional 300-400 viewers daily.
