Actor Vivek Oberoi raised eyebrows once again, this time with his fiery reflections and remarks on fame. The actor, in a rather candid chat, shared his thoughts about the fickle nature of fame. While he was at it, he even suggested that the megastars could just lose their stardom and legacy some years down the line.
Vivek shares his thoughts on fame
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Vivek mused about the day even a megastar like Shah Rukh Khan, may also fade from public memory. Sharing his thoughts on the fleeting nature of fame, he said, “Which film, starring somone who worked in the 1960s… you ask anyone about that today, nobody cares.” He then added, “2050 mein log bolenge ‘kaun Shah Rukh Khan’, shayad (In 2050, people might ask, ‘Who is Shah Rukh Khan?’, perhaps).”He also shared that this holds true for film legends, even one like Raj Kapoor, saying, “People today might ask, ‘Who is Raj Kapoor?’ You and I, we call him the god of cinema, but if you ask any youngster who is a fan of Ranbir Kapoor, they might not even know who Raj Kapoor was. So maybe history relegates you into nothingness.”
Vivek’s film slate
On the work front, Vivek, who was recently seen in the historical action film ‘Kesari Veer’, will soon go further back in time when he takes over the big screens in director Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic Ramayana. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as Raavana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Laxman, alongside a star-studded supporting cast including Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil and Lara Dutta. Oberoi is said to be playing the character of Vibhishan in the epic. Rumours are rife that the actor chose to donate his fees from the film towards a good cause. He shared his plans to donate his entire fee to support children with cancer.
