NEW DELHI: ED filed a supplementary prosecution complaint (chargesheet) against Robert Vadra, husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, before a special court here on Nov 15 in its money laundering case against fugitive defence dealer Sanjay Bhandari, alleging Vadra was found assisting the fugitive arms dealer and was beneficiary of a benami property in London at 12 Bryanston Square.“The evidence gathered by ED indicates that the property acquired by Bhandari, who was said to be instrumental in organising arms deal like the purchase of Pilatus trainer aircraft during UPA, was beneficially used by Vadra for his personal use,” a source aware of the probe findings said. The latest supplementary chargesheet specifically mentions “possession of proceeds of crime” by him, tying him closely to Bhandari. The court has fixed Dec 6 as the next date of hearing to decide whether to take cognisance of the latest chargesheet.Based on the evidence it gathered during its probe, the agency had earlier confronted Vadra during his questioning on his association with the London property allegedly purchased by the arms dealer and about his connection with him. Sources however said Vadra had denied any association with Bhandari. tnn
