‘Macron spent $1.5m’: Candace Owens alleges French President wants to assassinate her; claims she has ‘proof’

Date:

Conservative commentator Candace Owens on Monday claimed that French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte “allegedly” spent 1.5 million dollars on a plan to assassinate her. The claim came just days after she had earlier said the couple had ordered a hit on her life. In a post on X, Owens wrote: “When everything is said and done, and the public learns that Macron allegedly moved 1.5 million dollars for my assassination, how will the world respond?”

Her latest allegation followed her statement on Saturday that a “high-ranking employee of the French government” gave her “proof” of an “assassination squad” reportedly paid for by the Macrons. She said the group included “one Israeli.” These claims came after she accused Brigitte Macron of being a trans woman, prompting the French couple to sue her for defamation in a US court. Her Monday’s post triggered sharp reactions with some users pointing was using the word “allegedly” while also claiming she had solid evidence, asking her to clarify which version was true. “You just said ‘allegedly’ but also said you had evidence,” a user wrote. Others demanded accountability, saying there was a larger concern about whether “truth tellers” were safe from government pressure or retaliation.

Owens also linked Israeli influence to the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. She said the man accused of killing Kirk, Tyler Robinson, trained with the French Foreign Legion’s 13th brigade, and claimed that another journalist, Xavier Poussard, was also in danger. “This is deadly serious,” she wrote, adding that the French head of state “apparently wants us both dead” and has authorised “professional units” to target them. On Sunday, she said she had informed “people in the Federal government” about the alleged threat and was ready to share full details, including the names of the supposed assassins and the international accounts in France and Canada where the money was allegedly moved.
