‘Dhurandhar’ Day 1 advance booking report: Ranveer Singh starrer sees average response ahead of Friday release |

Date:

Aditya Dhar’s action drama ‘Dhurandhar’, featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead, is headed for one of the widest releases of the year. However, its first-day advance booking numbers indicate only an average start, despite the scale and buzz surrounding the film.

Advance ticket sales

As per the latest reports on sacnilk, the film has sold over 58,000 tickets across the top national theatre chains. Across India, ‘Dhurandhar’ has recorded a total advance booking collection of Rs 2.59 crore. The bulk of this collection comes from 2D shows, which have grossed an estimated Rs 2.32 crore from over 54,000 tickets sold across 3,937 shows. The IMAX 2D format has contributed an additional Rs 26.07 lakh, selling 4,032 tickets for around 79 shows. With the film reportedly securing one of the widest openings with a show count touching 4,016, its nationwide presence is significant. Including blocked seats, the total advance booking collection has risen to an estimated Rs 4.24 crore.

State-wise collections

State-wise, Maharashtra is leading with the highest collection of Rs 66.18 lakh in advance earnings, which climbs to Rs 1.11 crore when accounting for blocked seats. Delhi follows closely with Rs 63.09 lakh (Rs 91.25 lakh with blocked seats). Gujarat has generated Rs 19.8 lakh (revised to Rs 30.11 lakh including blocked seats), while Karnataka has contributed Rs 38.92 lakh (reaching Rs 52.38 lakh inclusive of blocked seats).

Performance in major cities

Performance across major cities shows a moderate occupancy trend. In the National Capital Region (NCR), the advance collection stands at an estimated Rs 72.81 lakh, including blocked seats, registering 10% occupancy across 393 shows. Mumbai has collected Rs 61.04 lakh (with blocked seats) with 9% occupancy across 371 shows. Bengaluru has shown slightly better traction with up to Rs 42.42 lakh (with blocked seats) and 13% occupancy across 278 shows, while Pune has earned Rs 30.7 lakh (with blocked seats) at 8% occupancy across 225 shows.

Early box office predictions

Trade projections suggest that ‘Dhurandhar’ is likely to open in the Rs 17 crore to Rs 20 crore range on Friday. For a large-scale action entertainer, such an opening would be considered decent. This collection would mean that the film would rely heavily on word-of-mouth to drive weekend growth. The current trend puts the film on par with the Dhanush and Kriti Sanon romantic-drama, ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ which opened to similar numbers at the box office. However, the film seemed to pick up its pace over the weekend and maintained a strong hold through the week.

Box office performances of A-rated films

In the circuit of A-rated films, ‘Dhurandhar’ will face tough comparison, with recent releases like ‘Baaghi 4’ which earned Rs 47.40 crore on opening, and ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ earning an impressive collection of Rs 80.83 crore.
