Hit OTT series ‘Landman’ has officially been renewed for a third season! The neo-Western drama, led by actor Billy Bob Thornton, released its second season last month. The news of the renewal comes as a major celebration for the cast members as well as the dedicated fans all around the world.
‘Landman’ renewed for third season
According to Deadline reports, the series has been confirmed for a third season. The news rolls out after the major success that the second season saw after its release on November 16 last month. The first official season started off with Thornton’s Tommy Norris, a petroleum oil landman.Created by Taylor Sheridan, the show has been set in the bounds of the West Texas region, where oil rigs are as precious, if not more than, gold and silver. The show was created from an 11-part podcast series, which was originally called ‘Boomtown.’ The first season rolled out on November 17, 2024, and has been a big hit ever since then. As per Nielsen Ratings, the show had managed to score 15.8 million viewers in terms of cross-platform ratings at the beginning of its journey.The second season also saw a major number, as within only the first few days of the season 2 episode’s release, the viewership rating went up to 9.2 million views worldwide. This makes it one of the most-watched shows and one of the strongest openings all year for the production house that is working on developing the story. So far, only three episodes have been released yet, while the fourth one will come out on December 7.

The second season brings a lot of oil with it, and along with it a wide array of secrets and lies with it too. The official description for the show reads that it is where “roughnecks and wildcat billionaires are fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.” Thornton’s character faces a lot of pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller, as well as his own next of kin as well throughout his journey. The show casts Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Sam Elliott, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan, and Colm Feore.
