Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-talked-about film ‘Akhanda 2’, under the direction of Boyapati Srinu, released in cinemas today (December 12). Although initially scheduled to release on December 5, the release was delayed due to financial issues. However, this delay did not affect the film’s box office performance.
‘Akhanda 2’ anticipated to have Rs 25+ crore opening
According to a report from BFilmy Official, the pre-sales collection alone has reached Rs 15.13 crore on the first day. Based on this, it can be assumed that Balakrishna’s film will easily reach the Rs 25 crore mark worldwide on its opening day. According to reports, more than 5,30,000 tickets have been sold on the first day.
Nears Rs 20 crore in India
Moreover, ‘Akhanda 2’ has been released in 402 cities globally. With this big release and preview bookings, the film was expected to gross around Rs 30 crore worldwide on its first day. But the working day release and mixed reviews affected the film’s box office. According to Sacnilk, in India alone, ‘Akhanda 2’ has earned Rs 16.95 crore till noon on the opening day, while Rs 7.8 crore has come from the paid premiere shows.
Thaman ’s music ignites big screens
The trailer and promo of ‘Akhanda 2’ have created a huge buzz on social media and played a major role in the film’s first-day performance. Nandamuri Balakrishna plays dual roles in this installment as Akhanda Rudra and Sikander Anora. Muralikrishna also plays a key role. Samyuktha Menon plays the female lead opposite Balakrishna. Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshali Malhotra, Kabir Duhan Singh, Saswada Chatterjee, Ronson Vincent, Achiyuth Kumar, P. Sai Kumar, Poorna, Ravi Mariah, and Harsha Semudu play important roles.Thaman scored the music, and his background score has ignited fire on big screens to add major strength to the film. Fans have been enjoying the mass action drama with the powerful music of Thaman. But the overloaded action scenes failed to work out among a few, and the film helmed by Boyapati Srinu faces mixed responses on the opening day.
