After pondering for five years, it was Ryan Reynolds who finally persuaded him to jump back into the fray for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.

In a recent interview, Jackman addressed his journey as the character and even revealed why he and Marvel are not done with the character just yet.

While in conversation with The View, the ‘Song Sung Blue’ star revealed that he does not believe that his stint as one of the ‘X-Men’ is over yet. He cited, “It’s not over yet,” while discussing his character in the MCU. He last appeared as the Wolverine in the 2024 film, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, opposite Ryan Reynolds, who plays the role of Deadpool. The host, Sunny Hostin, teased the actor and asked him whether his comment had something to do with ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ or not, to which the actor coyly replied by covering his face and refusing to provide a straight answer. He further added more details that it took him 5 years to be convinced to return and reprise his famed character on the big screen. He shared further, saying that, “For five years, I was like, ‘I’m done.’ And Ryan Reynolds would ring me a lot like, ‘Come on!’ I’m like, ‘No,’ And then I rang him one day and said, ‘I’m in.’ And so I go with this – and that’s what my gut says – it’s not done. But that’s just me! Marvel might have different ideas.
