Sreenivasan acted in more than 225 films. He was never a loud hero, but he was always real. His characters felt like people we know in daily life. He made audiences laugh, cry, and think through his acting.

As a screenwriter, Sreenivasan had contributed several classics to the Malayalam film industry. Nadodikkattu, Sandesam, Gandhinagar 2nd Street, Varavelpu, Thalayana Manthram, and Njan Prakashan are some of his works that touched our hearts. His story telling had a style that touched every normal people in Kerala. All of his works had a raw feel to it, mixed with humor.
Director with depth
Sreenivasan also proved his talent as a director. Vadakkunokkiyanthram won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film, while Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues.

Over the years, Sreenivasan received many honors. He won two Kerala State Film Awards for Best Screenplay for Sandesam and Mazhayethum Munpe. He also won a National Film Award and several other major awards.
A family that carries his light
Sreenivasan is survived by his wife Vimala and his sons Vineeth Sreenivasan and Dhyan Sreenivasan. While Vineeth Sreenivasan is a prominent name in acting, directing and singing field, Dhyan Sreenivasan is best known for his acting skills along with his charming off screen presence. Dhyan has also directed the film ‘Love Action Drama’.
