After a good week one at the Indian box office, James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ saw its numbers take a hit as it began its second week at the ticket windows. The sci-fi action film, which was expected to wreak havoc at the box office, couldn’t seem to shake off the hold of the Hindi film ‘Dhurandhar’, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead.

As per a report on Sacnilk, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ earned an estimated Rs 10.75 crore net at the box office on Sunday. This, coupled with the film’s second Friday collection of Rs 7.65 crore and Saturday collection of Rs 9.75 crore, pushed its second weekend net total to an estimated Rs 28.15 crore.

The film posted a solid first week at the Indian box office, earning an estimated Rs 109.50 crore across languages in its opening seven days. With this, the film’s total net collections thus far stand at an estimated Rs 137.55 crore. Meanwhile, its gross total collections have surpassed the Rs 150 crore mark, with the movie earning an estimated Rs 167.75 crore.

‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ language-wise collection breakdown

The film has scored the highest collections from its English release, which has earned an estimated Rs 59.65 crore. Meanwhile, the Hindi dubbed version follows close behind with a collection of Rs 45.15 crore. The Tamil version earned an estimated Rs 20.03 crore, followed by the Telugu dubbed version, which earned Rs 12.18 crore. The Kannada and Malayalam versions scored the least, earning Rs 41 lakh and Rs 13 lakh respectively.

‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ records highest earning Hollywood release of 2025

The film has emerged as the highest-grossing Hollywood release of 2025 in India, surpassing the Rs 129 crore gross total of ‘F1 Movie’ to become the biggest foreign film of the year in the country. The movie had previously topped the Indian box office in 2022 with ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, which went on to gross nearly Rs 500 crore.Trade analysts expect ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ to target the Rs 200 crore gross milestone by the end of its second week.
