Vicky Kaushal is today regarded as one of Bollywood’s most dependable and banke stars but once he found himself in an unusual and rather ironic situation and that is behind bars. Long before awards, box office wins and leading man status, Vicky had a brief rush with the law and the reasons for that had nothing to do with crime but everything to do with cinema. The anecdote resurfaced when Anurag Kashyap went on the sets of The Kapil Sharma show and its clip went viral on social media. According to Kashyap, the incident occurred when the Gangs of Wasseypur team was shooting at a real location without official permission and Kashyap is known to shoot in guerilla ways. What the crew didn’t know was that the site was being used for illegal sand mining operations. As the shoot progressed, the situation escalated quickly. Authorities arrived at the location, and what began as a routine filming day turned into a full-blown crackdown. The police detained members of the cast and crew, leading to multiple arrests. Among those taken into custody was Vicky Kaushal, who was then working as an assistant director under Kashyap, still years away from his acting breakthrough.Fortunately, Vicky Kaushal’s time in custody was brief, and the incident soon became a footnote in his journey . Today he is celebrated for his performance in films like Masaan, Uri: The Surgical Strike, and Sam Bahadur. The year 2025 has been an amazing one for Vicky as he not only delivered the biggest hit of his career in Chhaava where he portrayed the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj,. He and Katrina also went on to become proud parents of a baby boy. Vicky is set to appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the film is expected to release this year. Post that he would be teaming up with Amar Kaushik for Mahavatar which is based on life of Lord Parshuram.
