And speaking about the same, Rakesh Bedi, who played Jameel Jamali in the film, called the movie’s success a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon. In a recent interview, he also spoke about Akshaye Khanna and said the movie doesn’t mark his comeback, as he never left the playing field.

After the success of ‘Dhurandhar’, a section of the audience believed that Akshaye Khanna had made an impactful comeback. However, disagreeing with the same, Rakesh Bedi, in a conversation with Hindustan Times, said the actor never left the industry. He emphasised that his movies were always there; it’s just that some worked while others didn’t. “Akshaye was always in the game. He never left it. Uski and humari films lagti rehti hai, koi kam chalti hai, koi zyada chalti hai, but it doesn’t mean he was out of the industry,” he shared.

Comparing ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Baahubali’, he said the massive success stories like these can not be replicated or repeated. It is something that leaves a lasting impression. “Ye once in a lifetime hai success hai. Abhi aap dekhiye, jaise Baahubali thi. Bohot koshish ki lekin Prabhas ke liye to same dubara repeat nahi hua. (This is once in a lifetime success. You see it for yourself, like ‘Baahubali’ was. Prabhas tried a lot, but the same couldn’t be replicated),” he said before adding, “Every actor-director waits for this kind of a wave in their career, and sometimes many people don’t get it ever.”Further citing Godfather he mentioned, “You cannot label this success. For example, you cannot categorise the success of the Hollywood film The Godfather.”
