Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden demise in 2020 left everyone shocked and in grief and it also was a difficult year for Rhea Chakraborty.The actress was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau over alleged drug links, while his family accused her of abetment, theft and financial misappropriation. In 2025, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitted its closure report, giving Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty a clean chit in the case. The actress began her chapter two with a podcast with the same name, depicting her life journey. Now as Rhea released a promotional video from the season finale of her podcast, she revealed that during this tough time, some of her female friends stood by her, especially Shibani Dandekar. This finale episode features Rhea in an intimate conversation with these women who were by her side during her dark phase. The clip opens on an emotional note, with Shibani’s sister, Anusha Dandekar, breaking down in tears. Rhea is seen consoling her, saying softly, “If she will cry then I will cry.”

Then one sees Rhea opening up about the emotional toll of that phase. Reflecting on the year that changed her life, she says, “The year 2020 was a difficult time of my life. As my dad says, if it weren’t for these women, we would have never survived. Now we don’t need a temple in the house, we need a picture of these women.”Fashion stylist Anisha Jain, another close friend, also spoke about the resilience it took to get through that period. “2020 was a lot and we did what we had to. I don’t know where that courage came from,” she admitted.Rhea’s friend Samiksha Shetty recalled an unexpected conversation with the actor. “She just came to me one day and said ‘we have to do this one thing’ and I thought she wants to get her nails done, but she said, ‘Let’s go freeze our eggs’,” Samiksha shared.Rhea spent 28 days in judicial custody in 2020 before being granted bail by the Bombay High Court. In the years since, she has slowly rebuilt her life and career, as she also appeared on Roadies, apart from starting her podcast.
