After multiple delays, Prabhas starrer ‘The Raja Saab’ finally hit theatres on January 9, and drew massive crowd on its opening day. Prabhas’ fans packed cinema halls to witness the first-day-first-show celebrations. Several videos from inside the screenings quickly made their way onto social media, showing fans cheering loudly, tossing confetti, and erupting during key moments such as the actor’s entry, song sequences, and the much-talked-about crocodile fight scene. One could see Prabhas fans carrying big toy crocodiles to the cinema halls to watch the film. However, amid the festive chaos, an unfortunate incident was reported from a theatre in Odisha, where a fire broke out during the screening. Fans had reportedly carried an ‘aarti ki thaali’ inside the hall, lighting lamps and bursting fire arrows in front of the screen during Prabhas’s entry. The flames ignited near the screen, prompting some viewers to attempt to put it out while others panicked and rushed outside due to the sudden commotion. Thankfully, no injuries or casualties have been reported.Journalist and Social activist Siraj Noorani shared the video on his social media and wrote, “Fire broke out in the Ashok Talkies Hall in Rayagada. South superstar #Prabhas’ film was playing in the hall. Incident during Prabhas’ entry in the cinema. During Prabhas’ entry, fans shouted and threw arrows in front of the screen.” He also clarified, “The fire was controlled by the people present in the hall.” ‘The Raja Saab’ is a fantasy thriller that marks Prabhas’ return to his signature mass-entertainer space. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Boman Irani apart from him. The film had a good opening on day 1 and made Rs 53.75 crore. It saw a drop of more than 50 percent on day 2, which is Saturday and has made Rs 25 crore.
