As fireworks burst above a close-up of the singer, Puth ended his performance with an unexpected final note, adding his own touch to the more than 200-year-old song.

Puth revealed in a November Instagram post that he would be singing the national anthem and wrote, “I can’t believe I’m saying this. … I will be performing the National Anthem at Super Bowl LX.”He described the song as “one of the most beautiful pieces of music” in the video but also pointed out it is one of “the hardest to sing” thanks to the “extreme vocal range” needed.
