The 2026 Actor Awards were handed out on Sunday, celebrating and hnouring the year’s finest performances in film and television.Presented by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, the show streamed live on Netflix. Kristen Bell hosted the ceremony, which took place at the Shrine Auditorium in downtown Los Angeles.The film category delivered a series of surprises, with Michael B. Jordan beating out the likes of Timothée Chalamet to win the Best Lead Actor award for his role in Sinners after missing out on the major awards earlier this season. Chalamet had been the favourite for his turn in Marty Supreme, following wins at the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globes. However, as the awards season continued, other actors overtook him for the top prize.
Jessie Buckley moved one step closer to an Oscar win after picking up the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her performance in Hamnet. Her victory follows a dominant awards run this season, with wins at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards and the BAFTAs.Amy Madigan also beat out favourite ‘One Battle After Another’ star Teyana Taylor to clinch the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role. Meanwhile, Sean Penn beat his ‘One Battle After Another’ co-star Benicio Del Toro to win the award for his Supporting Role in the film. In the television categories, medical drama ‘The Pitt’ claimed the top drama honour, with lead star Noah Wyle winning Best Male Actor in a Drama Series.In comedy, ‘The Studio’ emerged as the night’s biggest winner, taking home Best Comedy Ensemble. Seth Rogen won Best Male Actor in a Comedy Series, while Catherine O’Hara received a posthumous award for Best Female Actor in a Comedy Series.Owen Cooper continued his awards-season momentum, earning the Actor Award for Best Male Actor in a Limited Series or Television Movie for his performance in ‘Adolescence’.Meanwhile, the stunt ensembles of ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ and ‘The Last of Us’ were recognised with the night’s action performance honours.Here’s the complete winners’ list:
