HYDERABAD: A city court on Wednesday granted a four-day custody of Jani Master, alias Shaik Jani Basha, to the Narsingi police of Cyberabad commissionerate, which is investigating a rape case registered against him around ten days ago.
Jani is accused of raping his assistant, now 21, on multiple occasions since she was 16 years of age. He is also accused of harassing her and raping her by putting her under fear of damaging her career and depriving her of movie offers.
After police registered a case against Jani on September 15, he went absconding.He was arrested in Goa, brought to the city, and produced before a city court on September 20, which sent him to judicial remand. Since then, he has been lodged in Chanchalguda Central Prison. After hearing the custody petition filed by the cops, the court granted them his custody.
