Bharti Airtel’s digital arm, Xtelify, has launched a suite of new digital assets, including a “built-in India” sovereign cloud and an AI-powered software platform for telecom companies worldwide. The company said that it has already secured strategic partnerships with Singtel (Singapore), Globe Telecom (Philippines) and Airtel Africa.Gopal Vittal, vice chairman and MD of Bharti Airtel, called it a “very pivotal moment,” announcing the company’s move to offer its “world-class, home-grown platforms of Airtel Cloud and software solutions” to businesses globally.
Xtelify introduces ‘Airtel Cloud’ for India
Xtelify introduced ‘Airtel Cloud’, a sovereign, telco-grade cloud platform developed and tested on Airtel’s own network in India. The company says that this platform is built to handle up to 140 crore (1.4 billion) transactions per minute and is now being offered to Indian businesses. It promises up to 40% optimisation in cloud spending, effortless scaling and no vendor lock-ins.Vittal emphasised the security and control of the new platform, stating, “All controls of our cloud will reside strictly within the country ensuring zero possibility of any entity outside India being able to access any part of this data or its working.”
Xtelify’s AI-powered software for global telcos
In addition to the cloud platform, Xtelify unveiled an AI-powered software platform designed to help telecom companies globally. This solution aims to reduce underlying complexity, improve customer experience, lower customer churn, and increase average revenue per user (ARPU). It features:
- A converged data engine for AI-led insights.
- A Workforce platform for real-time task streamlining.
- An experience platform to manage the entire customer journey.
These partnerships signal a strong global push by Airtel to leverage its digital expertise and homegrown technology to compete on a worldwide scale.
