Ajay Devgn’s ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ takes a modest start of over Rs 1 crore at advance ticket window |

Ajay Devgn is back with De De Pyaar De 2- sequel of his successful flick De De Pyaar De which released in 2019 and went on to mint Rs 104.13 crore from its theatrical run. The first installment starred Tabu, Rakul Preet Singh and Jaaved Jaaferi and for the second part R Madhavan, Gautami Kapoor and Meezaan Jaferi have been added to the mix.The film has been generating a lot of buzz thanks to the music of the film especially 3 Shauk whihc featured Meezan and Jaaved with Rakul. The film is slated to release on 14th November and by 12th morning the film has taken a modest start of Rs 1.37 crore . A closer look at the numbers reveals that only Rs 19.19 lakh has come from organic sales and Rs 1.17 crore has come from block bookings. Maharashtra and Delhi circuits are leading the charge with maximum collection of Rs 31. 51 lakh and Rs 34.12 lakh respectively.Sequels which were once considered to be the safest at the box office have been a mixed bag for Ajay Devgn. His last sequel was Son of Sardaar 2 and the film failed at the box office while before that he had Raid 2 which made a mark in the top 10 Hindi hits of the year. While last year’s Singham Again which was the latest installment of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe and third film of Singham series got a good response from the audience but didn’t perform as it was expected. But this has not dissuaded Ajay from sequels, he still has the next installment of Dhamaal, Dhrishyam and Shaitaan in the pipeline.
