More than four decades after they first came together on screen in Raj N Sippy’s 1984 action film ‘Andar Baahar’, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff continue to share a bond that has only grown stronger with time.Taking to Instagram, Anil Kapoor reflected on how the film became the starting point of their long-standing friendship. He shared that what began as a healthy professional rivalry eventually evolved into deep mutual respect and unconditional affection.Sharing a few rare behind-the-scenes moments from Andar Baahar, Anil wrote, “On and off sets, ours was a friendship that grew in strength, quietly but surely. What was once a healthy rivalry, gently faded into the deepest respect and love for each other…#41yearsofAndarBaahar and a friendship I’ll cherish forever.”A remake of the 1982 Hollywood film 48 Hrs, ‘Andar Baahar’ also featured Moon Moon Sen, Kim and Danny Denzongpa in pivotal roles. The film revolves around gangster Shera, played by Danny Denzongpa, who betrays his partner Raja, portrayed by Anil Kapoor, after a bank robbery. Following Raja’s arrest and Shera’s escape from prison, Inspector Ravi Khanna, played by Jackie Shroff, teams up with Raja to track down the criminal after he kidnaps Raja’s sister. Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff were often pitied against each other and they’ve given some memorable films together like ‘Ram Lakhan’ and ‘Parinda’. Earlier, on ‘Koffee With Karan’, Anil Kapoor had once revealed that he was insecure of Jackie Shroff. He had said, “Jackie was an outsider in a way but still he got the first break from Subhash Ghai.
