Malayalam actor Anusree has shared an emotional chapter of her life. In a heartfelt conversation with the media, the actress opened up about the hurtful gossip and the toll it took on her family.A cold welcome from her own town – ‘When I first entered films…’Anusree, who was discovered by director Lal Jose during a reality show, said her early days in the industry were anything but smooth. “When I first entered films, people weren’t as encouraging to a girl chasing her dreams. There were whispers, judgments—even friends I thought I could trust,” she recalled in an interview with Ginger Media Entertainments. She admitted the social stigma around a woman joining cinema weighed heavily on her, and she often found herself isolated.“My father never told me directly…”Though her parents tried to shield her from the negativity, Anusree soon discovered the pain they were enduring silently. “My father never told me directly, but he shared things with my mother. Once during an interview shoot, he broke down in public. That’s when I realised how much he had been silently bearing,” she said. The comments from neighbours and acquaintances were so cruel that Anusree even asked her parents if they should leave their hometown—but her father stood firm.
“I don’t feel like moving anywhere”Now 34, Anusree says she has found strength in her roots. On relationships, she added, “I’ve lived in this house till 34, I don’t feel like moving anywhere. So if someone wants to marry me, they’ll have to come live here.
