Marvel Studios’ elaborate plans to roll out ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ trailers have been thwarted by repeated leaks. Just hours after the team launched the third official trailer, announcing the return of the X-Men, the fourth trailer of the upcoming film leaked online.

Contrary to social media buzz that the fourth trailer would feature Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom, facing off against the Counsil of Kangs, the new and clip offers fans a surprise crossover between ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Fantastic Four’. The leaked one-minute clip, which was expected to be released ahead of the ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, week 4 screenings, saw the unexpected superhero team-up, first teased in leaked set photos.

The trailer, sees Letitia Wright as Shuri, taking on the mantle of Black Panther, delivering a monologue, “I’ve lost everyone that matters to me. A king has his duties. To prepare our people… for the afterlife. I have mine.” The footage also features Tenoch Huerta as Namor and the Talokanil, the underwater civilisation, now shown above ground in a desert-like kingdom. Winston Duke joins in as M’Baku, backed by members of the Dora Milaje. Providing some comic relief amid a grim few trailer releases, he said, “King M’Baku of Wakanda.” This is met by Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm aka The Thing replying, “Ben… Uh, Yancy Street. Between Broome and Grand.”The teaser concludes with the title card, “The Wakandans and the Fantastic Four will return in Avengers: Doomsday.”

Following the reported leak, several clips from social media handles have been taken down, fuelling speculation that the video was not among the many AI-generated clips floating on social media.

Marvel has been releasing a series of trailers for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, beginning with Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers, aka, Captain America, Chris Hemsworth returning as Thor, and several X-Men characters, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and James Marsden returning to their iconic roles as Professor X, Magneto and Cyclops. A full-length trailer is also expected to drop, however, as per latest reports, the clip is widely rumoured to arrive next month with the Super Bowl LX on February 8.‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is slated for release on 18 December.
