The couple recently shared the joyous news with the world, revealing that they welcomed a baby girl this summer through adoption, marking a sweet milestone on their Georgia farm. However, the story doesn’t end there. Millie, ever the hands-on animal lover, runs Joey’s Friends, an animal rescue on their land, brimming with rescued dogs, goats, sheep, and more. With dreams of a big, inclusive family and a caring home for both children and creatures, the couple is building a life full of love, warmth, and a whole lot of furry friends and muddy paws.
Path to parenthood: Embarking on a new journey
Known for her breakout role in Stranger Things, Millie revealed that she has embraced motherhood this summer with open arms and a heart full of ambition. In a shared Instagram post, Millie (21) and Jake Bongiovi (23) announced that this summer, they welcomed “our sweet baby girl through adoption.” The couple conveyed their happiness over beginning this new chapter, stating that they’re “beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. The message concluded with “And then there were 3.”
The ‘big’ family planning
Of course, family is already a big deal for Millie, as she has always been vocal about how she has always dreamed of motherhood, inspired by her own parents, who had children young. She once shared on the SmartLess podcast, “I’m still really young. But my mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19.” Millie had revealed that Bongiovi was well aware of where she stood all the while, as she shared, “Jake knows how important it is to me. Like, of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me personally.”The Damsel actress also shared that she had no plans of stopping at just one baby. In fact, while sharing her thoughts about being a mother and how many babies she wanted, Millie had candidly stated, “I really want a big family,” adding, “I’m one of four, he’s one of four, so it is in our future.” Furthermore, Millie also shared that she was ready to welcome a little one into their lives, but Jake, 23, wanted to wait till they had tied the knot and made things official. At the time, she had also said she was open to adoption, something that has now come true for the couple. Back then, Millie had shared, “For me, my home is full of love for anyone and anything,” adding, “So that’s kind of where we’re at. We’re wanting to start a family, and it doesn’t matter in what way or when, but it will happen for sure.” In fact, the Enola Holmes star revealed that adoption meant just as much as having biological kids, because what matters most is a home full of love. She explained, as quoted by Page Six, “This has been my thing since before I met Jake… I wanted to be a mum just like the way my mum was to me.”

From sets, to a farm and crib(s)
Apart from being one of the most prominent child stars of this generation, Millie has earned a name for her love of animals. So, family for Millie extends far beyond baby snuggles. In Georgia, she and Jake co-manage a working animal rescue farm, affectionately dubbed Joey’s Friends. Since 2022, Millie’s been rescuing dogs from kill shelters and giving them a second chance at life. Her animal kingdom is vast and varied. Talking about her farm life, Millie recently shared on BBC Radio 1: “I have 25 farm animals, and then I have 23 foster dogs, and then I have 10 dogs in my house that are my personal dogs, and four cats.”In a Vanity Fair interview, Millie had emphasized that if you were not ready to muck out horse stalls or hand-wash a cow, the farm life might not be for you. She embraces its glorious chaos… From sheep, goats, donkeys to cows, cats, dogs… You name it.She added, with a laugh about her sleeping arrangements: “Only one is allowed in the bed now because Jake said, ‘No more in the bed.’”

And mind you, Millie isn’t just playing rescue boss; she’s learning how to be one. She’s taken courses in human services and veterinary studies to ensure her four-legged friends get the love and care they deserve. As they say – all hands-on, all heart! And with a baby girl now safely in the fold and a rescue farm bustling with animals, Millie and Jake have laid the groundwork for a loving, lively home. No wonder they want more members joining their happy and happening tribe!
