The actor represented his wife, Patralekhaa, who was honoured for her acclaimed role in ‘Phule’. Taking the stage to accept the award on her behalf, Rao expressed gratitude toward the film’s makers and shared a short, heartwarming speech that left the audience charmed. Before leaving, he mentioned with a smile that he had to rush back home as “both his darlings” were waiting for him.
Rajkummar praises Patralekhaa’s talent
While speaking to the Free Press Journal, Rajkummar thanked the jury for thinking of Patralekhaa because he believes she is such a wonderful actor. He mentioned that she didn’t get too many opportunities but whenever she got them, she has killed it – be it ‘Phule’, ‘IC814’, ‘Citylights’ and many more. He concluded, “And now, of course, I have to go to the hospital where both my darlings are waiting for me”.
Couple welcomes baby girl
The couple recently embraced parenthood as they welcomed a baby girl on November 15. The actors shared the joyous news through a joint statement, revealing that their daughter arrived on the special day of their fourth wedding anniversary. “We are over the moon. God has blessed us with a baby girl,” they wrote, adding, “The greatest blessing God has given us on our 4th wedding anniversary.”
A decade-long love story
Rajkummar and Patralekhaa share one of Bollywood’s sweetest love stories. They met over ten years ago, and their bond has only grown stronger since then. Rajkummar has said that he knew she was “the one” when he first saw her in an ad, and their connection deepened while working together on ‘CityLights’ in 2014. In October 2021, he proposed to her in a private ceremony, and they got married a month later in Chandigarh. Their wedding was small and beautiful, attended by close friends and family. Patralekhaa wore a red sari with a Bengali verse on her veil, while Rajkummar looked elegant in ivory.
