CLAT 2026 result: The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLUs) has officially declared the Common Law Admission Test 2026 (CLAT 2026) results on December 16, 2025. Candidates who appeared for the national-level law entrance examination can now download their official scorecards by logging in to the CLAT 2026 portal available at consortiumofnlus.ac.in.CLAT 2026 was conducted on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM across 156 test centres located in 25 states and 4 Union Territories. The scores were tabulated and verified on December 14 and 15, 2025, following which they were placed before the Governing Body of the Consortium of National Law Universities for approval on December 16, 2025.

CLAT 2026 exam pattern and key highlights
For the Undergraduate (UG) programme, CLAT 2026 consisted of five sections with a total of 120 questions. One question was withdrawn at the provisional answer key stage, and the final evaluation was carried out out of 119 marks. The highest score in CLAT 2026 UG was 112.75 marks.The UG sections included:
- English Language
- Current Affairs including General Knowledge
- Legal Reasoning
- Logical Reasoning
- Quantitative Techniques
For the Postgraduate (PG) programme, the test comprised a single section with 120 questions. One question was withdrawn, and answers to three questions were revised. As a result, evaluation was conducted out of 119 marks, with the highest score recorded at 104.25 marks.The overall attendance percentage for CLAT 2026 stood at 96.01%, with 57% female candidates, 43% male candidates, and nine transgender candidates appearing for the examination.
What’s next?
Alongside the result declaration, the Consortium has initiated the CLAT 2026 admissions counselling process for admission to five-year integrated Undergraduate and Postgraduate law programmes for the Academic Year 2026-27. Eligible candidates are being invited to participate in counselling through:
- Email sent to their registered email address
- SMS alerts to their registered mobile number
- Notifications on the CLAT 2026 candidate portal
Registration for admissions counselling will open on December 16, 2025, (9 PM) and will remain open until December 27, 2025, subject to completion of preference filling and payment of the counselling registration fee within the stipulated timeline.Admissions to participating National Law Universities (NLUs) will be conducted through five rounds of centralised counselling, based on CLAT 2026 ranks and seat availability. The first allotment list is scheduled to be published on January 7, 2026.Note: Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website and their registered email for further updates related to counselling schedules, seat allotment lists, and admission formalities.
