Day 22 sees slight growth in numbers

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, on day 22 ‘Coolie’ showed a slight rise in collections, earning around Rs 1.40 crore across all languages. Weekend numbers were better, while weekdays slowed down in week three

The film saw a steady third weekend. Saturday brought in Rs 2.8 crore, and Sunday rose higher with Rs 3.1 crore. But once Monday arrived, the trend dipped sharply, with earnings dropping by over 64% to Rs 1.10 crore. On Tuesday, there was a small rise of nearly 24% as collections reached Rs 1.3 crore. Wednesday saw another dip of over 11%, bringing the number to Rs 1.15 crore.

About ‘Coolie’

One of the reasons ‘Coolie’ continues to draw attention is its star-studded cast. The film brings together some of the biggest names in Indian cinema, including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Rachita Ram, Upendra and Aamir Khan. The story follows Deva, a former coolie union leader, who sets out to uncover the mystery behind his friend’s sudden death. With its mix of emotion, action and drama, the film has given fans exactly what they hoped for from a Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj collaboration.

New releases pose challenge at the box office

‘Coolie’ now faces competition as fresh films hit the big screens. On 5 September, two much-talked-about releases, ‘Madharaasi’ starring Sivakarthikeyan and ‘Ghaati’ featuring Anushka Shetty, arrived in cinemas. With both films generating buzz, especially in Tamil Nadu and other South markets, the big question is whether they will slow down the steady run of Rajinikanth’s action drama.

Will ‘Coolie’ touch Rs 300 crore mark?

At Rs 284 crore, the film is just Rs 16 crore short of the big 300-crore milestone in India. Reaching this mark will not be easy, especially with new releases fighting for screens and audience attention. However, if the upcoming weekend gives another push, ‘Coolie’ may still cross the line. Much will depend on how the fresh releases perform and whether Rajinikanth’s film can hold its ground against younger rivals.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
