Date:

Bollywood legend Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025. To honour his life, his family organised a special gathering on Thursday, November 27, at Taj Lands End in Bandra. The event is called a ‘Celebration of Life’. Fans and members of the film industry came to pay their respects to the veteran actor.

Bobby Deol looks emotional

Among the first to arrive were Dharmendra’s family, son Bobby and Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol, and nephew Abhay Deol. Bobby Deol was seen visibly emotional as he arrived in his car. Karan and Abhay Deol also joined, showing quiet support.

Bollywood celebrities arrive to honour the star

Several Bollywood celebrities arrived to pay their last respects to the late veteran actor. Veteran actress Rekha, Sidharth Malhotra, Arhaan Khan, Amrita Arora, Sharman Joshi, Suniel Shetty, and Jackie Shroff were spotted arriving at the venue. More stars are expected to join as the evening goes on.

Sonu Nigam to perform Dharmendra’s iconic songs

The Deol family decided to skip the usual prayer meet and instead organised a heartfelt ‘Celebration of Life’. According to Bollywood Hungama, this was done to reflect the way Dharmendra lived – warm, generous, and full of joy. To make the event more special, Sonu Nigam was invited to perform some of Dharmendra’s most iconic songs. The singer’s performance was expected to bring back the charm and romance of the actor’s films. The music aimed to ease sorrow, bring smiles, and celebrate love, friendship, and togetherness – just as it did in many of Dharmendra’s films.

Hema Malini posts heartfelt social media tribute

Hema Malini, Dharmendra’s wife, posted a touching note on social media on the day of the prayer meet. She described him as everything to her, a loving husband, a devoted father to their daughters Esha and Ahana, a friend, philosopher, guide, poet, and her ‘go-to’ person. She added that he had always been there for her, in good times and bad.

Legacy remembered through love

Dharmendra’s films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Chupke Chupke’, and ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ will remain classics. But beyond the screen, he is remembered for his humility, kindness, and love for family. The ‘Celebration of Life’ reflected his spirit, bringing together family, friends, and fans to honour a man who gave so much to cinema and to people around him
