‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ and ‘Thamma’ both released in cinemas on Diwali which came on a weekday. The clash between the movies did not seem big as one didn’t expect the Harshvardhan Rane film to be this dark horse. But it did exceptionally well, despite the fact that it got much lesser screens and show times than ‘Thamma’. Meanwhile, with the influx of newer releases last Friday – with ‘The Taj Story’ and ‘Baahubali: The Epic’, both of them began seeing a gradual drop and have now hit an all time low on its day 18, which is third Friday. After making 55 crore in its first week, it collected around Rs 2.35 crore on its second Friday, Rs 3.15 crore on its second Saturday and Rs 3.75 crore on its second Sunday. On Day 14 it earned approximately Rs 1.65 crore; Day 15 — aided by discounted ticket prices — saw a small bounce to about Rs 2.25 crore; on Wednesday of the second week it added roughly Rs 2 crore. It had an edge over ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ on Wednesday and it did somewhere in the Rs 1.5 crore range on Wednesday. Meanwhile, ‘Thamma’ also made Rs 2 crore on Wednesday which was its day 16. On Thursday, day 17, it made Rs 1.25 crore. Thus, the second week total of the film came to Rs 16.3 crore. On Friday, day 18, the film made Rs 70 lakhs, which is its lowest per day number so far. The total collection of the film is now Rs 72.15 crore as per Sacnilk. Meanwhile, ‘Thamma’ made Rs 18 crore in its second week which was a drop of around 82 per cent from its first week number. It made Rs 108.4 crore in first week. On Friday, day 18, the film collected Rs 80 lakhs. The total collection of ‘Thamma’ is now Rs 127 crore. At this pace, it may cross Rs 130 crore but may not touch Rs 150 crore at the domestic box office.
