It would be rather unfortunate if the sheesh mahal debate from Delhi’s recently concluded assembly election remains confined to Arvind Kejriwal and his alleged hypocrisies without bringing into focus two other key issues.
One, the growing influence of the wealthy in India’s politics. Almost all the current MPs, cutting across party lines own, not one, but multiple sheesh mahals. And the more they remain in office, the more their wealth increases.
